FEILDING STOCK SALE
The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., LUI„ report on the Fcilding sale: A heavy yarding of fat sheep, principally owes, camo forward. Although prices for owes wore barely up to the previous week’s rates there was good competition for well-finished heavy lots. Tat hoggets sold at slightly increased values, while wethers in the wool were on a par with last week’s rates. The store sheep entry comprised hoggets, and only one small pen of ewes with lambs. Bidding at the start of the sale dragged, but improved as the sale progressed. Top lutes of wether hoggets? met with keen competition, the best price at 28s 4d, obtained by Mr A. li. Sinclair, Pahiatua, being the highest so far obtained this season. Jlcdium add inferior lots of wether hoggets wore hard to quit. Two outstanding lines of ewe hoggets came forward, but all lots were in active demand at late rates. A feature of the sale was the keen demand for dairy stock and beef; in both sections bidding was very active and the appreciation in values was most marked. A full yarding of boner cows sold at the previous week’s rates. Very few run cattle came forward, a clearance being made at auction and privately.
