(From Our Own Correspondent.) UTUWAI, Aug. 26. An event keenly looked forward to by the children eventuated when the fancy dross danco organised by tho Women’s Institute was held. Tiie hall was tastefully decorated with streamers and greenery, making a dainty background for the gay costumes. Several pleasing items were given by tho Utuwai school-children and credit is due, to their teacher, Miss Grant, who had trained them to such a high standard. Among those in fancy dress were: —Pen Enright, Civil Service; Eileen McEwen, Minnie Mouse; Tommy McEwen, Mickio Mouse; Jo Hirschbcrg and Billy Hirschberg, Jack anti Jill; Brian Searie, Indian; Margaret Smith, Maori Maiden: Gorakl Enright, Dutch Boy; Polor McEwen, Indian; ‘Patty Pettigrew, Her Majesty; Margaret Pettigrew, Lucky Moon; Teddy Enright, Indian Boy ; Manu Smith, Sailor; Malcolm McEwen, Pirate; I.ou Enright, Peasant Maid; Pat ' Enright, Gwen Wingate. At 9.30 the children were treated to supper, after which the adults took the floor to music supplied by Mrs Smith.
