MAN FATALLY INJURED

STRUCK BY TAXI

Fatal head injuries w-°re received bv a labourer. William Millar Stewart o| Ponsonby, when he was knocked down by a taxi in Ponsonby Road on Saturday night. Mr Stewart was a married man with four children, and was employed by tlm Auckland Harbour Board. He was struck when attempting to cross the road.

WATERSIDER INJURED

GREYMOUTH, Aug. 29. Struck by a motor-car on the main highway near Brunner at 8 o’clock on Saturday night, George Minchin. aged 45, waterside worker, Greymouth, was later admitted to the Grey Hospital with extensive head injuries and a fractured skull.) He has remained unconscious and his condition is serious.

Mr Minchin was cycling in the rain at the time of the accident. He is a married man with four children.

FATAL COLLISION

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 29. When his motor-cycle collided with a motor-truck linif-way through the Ngahauranga Gorge .yesterday afternoon, Daniel McAuley, of Johnsonvillc, married, with six children, received severe head injuries from which he died before the arrival of an ambulance. He was travelling towards Johnsonville, and the truck was being driven in the opposite direction. The accident occurred at a bad bend.
