BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE.

MANAWATU AREA. At a meeting of the Manawatu area of the British Drama League, at which Mr G. G. Priest presided, the balancesheet of the area festival was presented and it was shown that after the percentage had been forwarded to headquarters there would be a balance of £2O, which wa6 considered most satisfactory. Appreciation was expressed of the work of the secretary (Mrs S. T. Bristow) and treasurer (Miss M. Warren), also of the stage manager, Mr J. Ren wick, and all others who had rendered assistance. It was decided to assist with the transport expenses of the winning team representing the area in the North Island elimination festival at Hawera early in September. The secretary reported having made enquiries with regard to drama schools and had found there were none being held in the neighbourhood of Manawatu before Christmas.

It was decided to hold the annual general meeting late in September. The chairman and secretary were appointed representatives on the national executive.
