CARNEGIE GRANTS.

FELLOWSHIPS IN EDUCATION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. Notification -was received at a meeting of the executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate to-day from the University of London Institute of Education that the Carnegie Corporation of New York had extended for three years its grants to permit of the award to two New Zealand University students each year of fellowships in education. The fellowships are of a value of approximately £llO each and are awarded to assist students to continue their studies abroad. The following degrees were conferred: —Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery, University of Otago. Walter James Ramsay; bachelor of dental surgery, University of Otago, Pat Noakes.
