(Bv Telegraph—Special to ““Standard.”) WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. Hon. W. Nash (Minister of Marketing) announced to-day that the Government had decided to purchase all butter intended for export during the current season at 13pi per II), and the price should result in pay-out by the average efficient dairy factory of not less than 13.88 d per lb of butterfat supplied for butter. Cheese will be purchased at 7.54 d per lb., which should return the equivalent of not less than 15.88 d per lb of butterfat for cbeese-malcing. “The cheese differential of 2d per lb is in accord with the policy announced by the Government some two months ago,” the Minister added. “All other arrangements with regard to grading, etc., will be in accord with the procedure at the present time.”

The past season’s basic guaranteed prices were 12.561 d per lb for butter and 6.81 d per lb for cheese. The^ season’s returns at .these, basic guaranteed prices were £17,470,600 to blitter producers and £5,415,334 to cheese producers, a grand total of £22,885,934.
