PAFIIATUA, July 23. On Thursday night the Bush Basketball Association conducted a mixed junior tournament in Pahiatua. There were nine teams and four rounds wero played; the Pahiatua Town girls’ team went through with three wins ani one draw. The final points wore: Town girls 7,1; I’apatawa girls 6,2; Papatawa boys 6,3; YVoodville, 4; Woodvillc boys, 4; Ngawapurua, 2; Post Office boys, 2; Athletic A. 1; Ngawapurua boys, 0. The reforees were Mesdames L. T. Russell and Leith. The Papatawa boys, Who won the boys’ section, played off with the Town girls, losing 3—o. The Post Office boys also played two extra game 6 chal lenging the Town girls, whom they beat 4 —o, doing likewise against Woodville girls by 3—o. Results of the four-ball best-ball bogey were as follow: —Lloyd and Judd 6 up. Biesett and Wright and Boagey and Boyens 2 up, Lovelock and Johansen 1 up. The president (Mr F. P. Nelson) has donated a trophy for a foursome medal competition to bo played over 36 holes. This will consist of one player from the A division and one from the B division.
