SDREAD IN MELBOURNE

MELBOURNE. July 22.

Another case of suspected infantile paralysis was reported to-dav, bringing the total to 23. So far all the patients are children, except a nurse, who acquired the disease through contact with the patients. The affected area appears to be spreading. Another school was closed to-dav, making eight. Other closings are likely to occur. There have been four deaths. The Government has appointed a hoard of medical specialists to make thorough research into the origin of the disease and advise on treatment and precautionary measures.
