FITZHERBERT MAIN ROAD.

(To flie Editor.)

Sir. —Since the. Public Works Department has commenced the deviations on the Fitzherbert Main Road, the crossings made by the new works over the metalled road have been left in an unsatisfactory condition. I am writing this letter so that the proper authorities will do something to safeguard users of tins route before there is a major accident. Some two weeks ago. although I respected the notices, the car would not pull up through the greasy surface made by clay dropped off drays. I understand several other vehicles met with the same fate. Cannot something be done to roughen the surface, especially during week-ends P —I am, etc.,

MOTORIST,
