GIANT OCTOPUS.
ASHORE NEAR PETONE. IN DYING CONDITION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 22. A huge octopus with tentacles 22ft long came ashore near Petone this morning, apparently in a dying condition. It is the biggest ever known in Wellington waters and of a 6ize very rare outside the tropics. Beaten by the waves, the octopus is not likely to remain long as a spectacle, but it has been photographed.
