BROWN—McFARLAND. A wedding of more than usual interest was solemnised at St. Paul’s Church. Feiiding, last evening, when Violet Naomi, eldest daughter of Mr ana Mrs it. A. McFarland, of Aorangi, was married to Anthony Leonard, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L J. P. Brown, Bedford Park. London. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her lather, to me strains of the “Wedding March” from “Lohengrin” played by Mr Matheson. looked very charming in her model gown of ivory matale crepella, with tinsel thread made on slim-fitting lines, with cowled neckline, imitation bolero and flared swallow tailed basque, and slight train. Her beautiful hand-embroidered veil, which she wore over her lace as she entered the church, was held to the head with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheath of arum lilies. Miss Nene McFarland, sister of the bride, attended her as birdesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of Buckingham pink georgette and lace, with cowled neckline, and sleeves and flared lace basque, featuring a tunic effect. On her head she wore a halo of pink pearls and orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of pink camellias, cyclamen and maidenhair fern. Mr N Speedy attended the bridegroom as best man, the ushers being Mr A. H. Anderson and Mr S. Orr. After the ceremony, a reception was held, where Mrs ‘McFarland received her guests, wearing an American model irock of Sahara red, satin backed marocain, trimmed with beige. She wore a Sahara red hat and accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet in autumn tints. The colour scheme of the decorations was carried out in the same shades as the handsome threetiered wedding cake, made by Mrs Rarnabv and the present of Mr and Mrs Ba'rnaby. It was beautifully decorated in colours of white, silver and pale coral pink. To be present at the wedding of this popular bride visitors had travelled from Wanganui. Wellington and Waitotara Valley and both she and the bridegroom were made the recipients or innumerable beautiful presents and a number of very substantial cheques. When Mr and Mrs Brown left for their honeymoon the bride was wearing a smart black and

white spring suit, with a three-quar-ter length coat, slightly flared, with of 'cream blouse, and black accessories.
