MR EDEN’S SPEECH.
RECEPTION ON THE CONTINENT LONDON, July 20. Mr Eden’s speech was well received in Rome and Paris. It is pointed out in Italian official circles that the references to room in the Mediterranean for all resembled Signor Mussolini’s argument at Milan in November.
Berlin newspapers complain that Mr Eden has not learnt that Russia is the enemy of the civilised world, including "Britain, and "they deplore the fact that the axis of British policy is more than ever an alliance with France.
