OBITUARY.
MR LEONARD JOSEPH TRASS. An old and highly respected resident of Feilding, Air Leonard Trass, passed away on Sunday. Deceased was born at Nelson, and later, with his parents, moved to Masterton, where he spent his school days. Leaving school, he took up work as a coachbuilder, and later resided in Sydney, where his marriage took place in 1900 to Miss Lilian Martin, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Martin, of Sydney. Returning to New Zealand, Air Trass came to Feilding and for the past 34 years had been occupied in the building trade. Deceased was a member of the Salvation Army for many years, and latterly attended the Baptist Church. Of a quiet, retiring disposition, Air Trass was a home-loving man and did not take any part in public activities. Besides his wife, he leaves a grown-up family of six, as well as four brothers and one sister—Alessrs _ H. Trass (Alauriceville), Samuel Trass (Alasterton), Ernest Trass (New Plymouth), Arthur Trass (Feilding) and Mrs H. Murphy (AVellington).
