SHY SUITORS.

ADVICE TO GIRLS. That girls should encourage shy suitors is the view of Dr. T. Drummond Shiels. formerly a Labour member of Parliament. He expressed it when discussing “the art of courtship” at a summer school of the British Social Hygiene Council. The Daily Telegraph states: Dr. Shiels said: “There is no doubt that there have been cases where a shy man who has been very much attracted to a girl would have been greatly helped by a little more frankness and honesty on the part of the girl. Very often, because of her jonvonrional ideas, a woman, if attracted to a man, makes a point of being particularly d'sagreeable to him for fear he should think that she is running alter him.”
