GIFT EVENING.
Mrs W. B. Bodell, of Wood Street, was hostess at a gift evening for Miss Connie Kempson, whose marriage takes place shortly, on Monday. fc>he wore a smart frock of black chenille velvet, Miss Kempson having chosen a ma.roon checked frock, and her mother, Mrs R. E. Kempson, a brown marocain relieved with red and orange. The drawing-room was arranged with violets a;id japonica, and a fire blazed cheerily. Dancing was enjoyed, Mr Pa.ul supplying the music. After supper a number of gifts were opened hy Jliss Kempson. her fiance, [Mr W. Brown, returning thanks on her behalf.
Among those present were: Mr and Mrs R. E. Kempson, Mr and Mrs B. Bodell, Mr H. Kempson. Misses M. Berkhan. Z. Robinson, M. Kempson, M. Bodell, E. Jackson. J. McPherson, U. Mills, A. de Rosa. J. Fowler (Waipawa), Mr .and Mrs E. Bodell, Messrs Paul, J. Jamieson, L. King (Inglewood) and P. Downie.
