(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU -Tuly 19. Last week a girls’ basketball team and a boys’ football team journeyed from Longburn to play the local teams. The local girls beat the visitors by 16 goals to 3, whilst the local boys lost to the visitors by 5 points to 18. The local boys were beaten in a match played at Levin on Satj urday; the scores were 10 —nil. I A team Aom ttie Moutoa Miniature Ritle Club journeyed to Tokomaru to compete against the local team for the T.M.O.L. j Shield, hut were unsuccessful, the local team retaining the trophy by 2 points. Two cars met in a hoad-on collision while driving through smoke on the Ashley Road on Sunday afternoon. The occupants of both cars were lucky to escape with slight injuries.

At the last meeting of the Lind Lodge of Druids A.D. Bio. It. Mason presided. Officers and members of the Uo.va! Arch Chapter were welcomed. Bro. S. D. Lloyd was presented with a Past Arch collar and case, and diploma for services rendered to the lodge; the presentation was made by Past Arch Bros. Buchanan, of Orona Lodge. A meeting of the R.A.C. was also held; one member Was initiated into tho R.A.C., and two members into the Chapter of Instruction.
