A euchre and dance in aid of the school funds was held in the hall this week. Extras wore played bv Messrs Collins, Battle and Whelan. Mr G. Davey acted as M.C. A euchre tournament was conducted in the supper room, tiro winners being Mrs Hall and N. Hyde, Mrs 11. Turner and D. Hayes winning tho consolation prizes. Tho Lucky Gay Gordons were won by Mrs R. Clarke arid Mr D. Collins. Amongst those present were: Mesdnincs G. Burmcistcr, wine figured taffeta; R. Clarke, black velvet; G. Carey, ivory satin; J. Burmoister, blue lace; 11. Wall presided over an attendance of about 20 members at tho July meeting of tho Kairanga Young Farmers’ Club. An apology for absence was received from Mr I. Fraser. The secretary is to write to Mr A. Widdowson informing him of transport arrangements for attending monthly meetings. Similar arrangements were made in regard to Mr Corbett, of Aorangi Road, blr B. - Ghrystall gave a short talk on the educational week at Palmerston North. A talk on tho true type of dairy cow was given by blr G. Mitchell. Tho speaker made a ereditablo effort and raised some interesting points.
