The extent of their passion may be gauged from the fact that the world’s largest dog-race totalisator is now operating at the White City—the hounds' Ascot. During the four hours and a-lialf of racing on a recent Saturday night, when the Greyhound Derby was run. £91,768 passed through'the 634 ticketissuing machines of the new totalisator. The totalisator is capable of handling £BOOO of punters’ money a minute. Although 80,000 people watched the Derby the normal attendance is 25,000.
