The death occurred in the Daiinevirke Hospital this week of Mrs jane Murray, wile of Mr J. Murray, of Paputawa. The deceased lady and the family were well-known in the district, having resided at Pupatawa tor many years.

Tire car owned by Air A. K. Stevenson, of Woodville. which was stolen from outside the Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening, was recovered at Auckland on Thursday. The monthly meeting of the A\ oodville Women’s Division was held in the Parish Hull when the president, Airs J. AI. Graham, presided. The following new members were welcomed: Alesdames J. Swede, W. Cunningham, King. E. J. Stitt. .Misses Daldy, GfaI ham and Swede. Mrs J. Halpin made a presentation to Alia C. Aiorgan of an electric jug to mark her recent marriage. The demonstration was given by Alls W. Coulter, who explained the method of making wood-pulp flowers. The competition, the best apron made from a sugar hag, was won by Airs J. Alitcbell, Airs U Neil being second. Airs W. Galbraith acted as judge wlule Airs Curry wan stewardess. Two vocal solos were given by Aliss Martin, of Papatawn, tno accompaniste being Airs Galbraith.

The annual general meeting of the Kumeroa-I lopeiands Sports Club was he.d in the Kumerc.a hall, when a fair attendance was present, Mr A. E. East presiding.
