.Mrs \Y. G. Eising presided over a meeting of the .MaUomaho Women’s Institufe yesterday afternoon. It was decided to plant flowering cherries in the school ground on Arbor Day. .Mrs AlcAlurtrie donated two trees, Mr A. W. Hamilton offering to superintend the planting. .Mr Hamilton gave a talk on gladioli culture. A competition was won by Mrs G. lloggard. The monthly competition, judged by Mr Hamilton, was won by .Mrs lloggard, with Miss D. Day second and Mrs AlcAJurtric third.

Mr J. D. Wilson presided over a meeting of the Tararua Power Buard this week. The secretary-manager reported that sales as recorded tit the cad of June showed a slight reduction on last year’s figures. This was evidently accounted for by the revision of Iho tariff charges.
