NOTES.
A heavy white frost was experienced in Feilding this morning. A remarkably good crop of pumpkins bus been grown by Mr J. Johansen, of Kakariki, this yo.nr, some of them 1 icing weighty and very large. One, shown in Feilding, measured 57in round, and weighed Gsll>. The flesh was three inches thick and was of good flavour. Mr Johansen said that lie had not taken any special care with the crop, but had mixed a little superphosphate in the ground before planting the seed.
