APPRECIATION.

BONUS TO STAFF. AMALGAMATED THEATRES. To mark their appreciation of the loyal service being; given by their employees throughout New Zealand, the directors of Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd., Invvo decided to make a bonus payment to every member of tlie staff of. the company. The distribution will be made immediately to a staff of over 1500 employed in the company’s theatres. It is "expected to absorb several thousands of pounds. “The payment will be all embracing,” said Mr M. J. Moodabe, governing director of the company. “Juniors who have been in the employ of the company only a few weeks will share with those who have given service ever since the inception of the company over 20 years ago. 'The basis of payment, however, will be on the length of service the employee has given. It is the opinion of the directors that the company lias been able to grow to its present position as the largest theatre-controlling concern in New Zealand largely because of the unfailing loyalty which our staff' has at all times displayed. In our theatres, from Wliangarei to Invercargill, the efficiency and loyalty of members of the staff have been most gratifying.

“As far as is known, the distribution of a bonus of such magnitude creates a precedent for theatre companies in New Zealand,” continued Mr Moodalic. “The harmonious relations which have always existed between the management and members of the staff of Amalgamated Theatres will bo cemented by the generosity of the directorate, and it is hoped that many more years of the same kind of service will be-given.”
