EXCHANGE. LAST WEEK’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. A weaker tendency in bank shares and an improvement in Australian industrial issues were the principal features of the stock and share markets last week. Trading was not active, and tho recorded turnover was below the average of recent weeks. Government loans were firm on an active demand, but supplies were scarce and business was restricted. Local body and company debentures were traded sparingly. Bank of New Zealand ordinaries weakened on sales from 44s 6d tc 43s 8d; the D long-term morlgago slintis were no dealings were reported. Commercial of Australia eased from 18s lid to 18s 5d, but recovered on Saturday to 18s 8d. National ot New Zealand wore weak at 61s Is d to OUs. Union cased from £10 15s to £10 14s, and £35 5s. New South Wales sold down to Australasias were easier at £12 10s. Nntional of Australasia were steady at £lo. Insurance shares were firm, National sell* at 66s. and South British at 97s. Dalgcty firmed from £10 2s 6d to £10 4s 6d, and Goldsbrougti, Brewery issues were quiet and but little changed.
