After a retirement of over four hours the jury disagreed and the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) ordered a new trial of the case against Leonard Alma Turner, stockdeaier, of Pelorus Valley, on a charge of the theft of three head of cattle. Although he was offered a new trial during the Nelson sessions next week, accused elected to wait four months till’the next Blenheim sessions. Bail was allowed in self £IOO and a surety of same amount.
