FLAX INDUSTRY.

PLAN FOR REHABILITATION. Flaxinillers and growers, representing interests in many parts of the North Island and in Marlborough, attended a meeting at Wellington yesterday. The plan for the reorganisation of the flax industry was explained by Mr F. Johnson, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, and Mr C. M. Bowden, special manufacturers’ representative on the Bureau of Industry. The meeting expressed approval of the plan and its objects, and decided to support it in every way possible. It was pointed out that a majority of principals engaged in the industry, or persons employing a majority of the workers engaged in the industry, must approve of the plan before it could he given effect to. All such principals should, therefore, record their approval or disapproval of the plan before July 28.
