PAHIATUA, June 3. When 1-lukanui met Fahiattia on Saturday in a match held under the jurisdiction of the Bush Rugby Union the game resulted in a scoreless draw. The senior game.. Hamua. v. Konini, resulted in a win for the former b” 21 points to 5. Scorers lor Hamua were Bailey, H. Wolland, Twentyman. Luke. For Konini, M. Harris and Keen scored. The two boxers, Stan Smith and Don Glengarry* have been matched to fight at P&hiatua this month. Mr William Coldicutt, who is leaving the district to take up his residence in Palmerston North, was the recipient of a mantel clock at a valedictory function. Mrs W. F. Day presided over the monthly meeting of the Paliiatua br.anch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mesdames Gilbert, Piper. Gibson and Bremner, who attended the inter-provincial conference at Da.nnevirke, gave an interesting report on that gathering, and several of the remits that had been passed were dismissed. The wedding took place at St. Peter’s Church, Pahiatnn, on Saturday, May 29, of Jessie Elizabeth Rose, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Southey, of Mangamnire, and Allan Francis, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs F. Hore, of Lower Hutt, Wellington. Rev. H. Wilson, R.A., officiated, and Miss P. Lawson was the organist. The bride was escorted by her father, and wore a gown of blue silk crepe with hat of the same material. She carried a bouquet of lilies, cornflowers and maidenhair fern. Attending the bride was Miss Margaret Southey (cousin), of Levin, who wore pink silk crepe and carried a bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern. Mr J. Eastwood, of Masterton, was best man. At a reception which was later held, Mrs Southey received the guests wearing a navy' blue gown with blue hat. Her bouquet was in toning shades. Among the gnests were the bride’s grandmother. Mrs A. Southey, of Masterton, and' her two grandfathers, Mr A. Southey and Mr T. Dillon (Tinui). Air G. Goggin, of Eketahuna, presided at the reception. The couple left for their honeymoon by car, the bride wearing n brown costume with brown felt hat to match. Mr and Airs Hore will reside in Masterton.
