CHARIOTS IN ACTION.
TRIAL AT SHOWGROUNDS. The chariots which are to he used in the races on the track on the oval at the Showgrounds in the course of the Winter Show were tested on Saturday by Mr W. A. Price, the well-known li'n-ht harness sportsman. The chariots were driven at all speeds, and had a thorough test when at full gallop. They are shod with pneumatic tyres and cornered perfectly. The driver was well satisfied with their nerformance and the high degree of safety. During the interval at the main football match Mr Price gave an exhibition to the delight of those present. Keen interest is being displayed by likely competitors, of whom a number have already made definite entries, including one lady charioteer. Prizes totalling £25 are being offered. Competitors may practise at the oval on any day of the week except Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
