DEFENSIVE ENTENTE
ITALY AND GERMANY. “SPIRITS AND FORCES,” ANNOUNCEMENT MADE. (United Press Association.-—By Electric Telegraph.---Copyright.) Received June 5, 10.45 a.m. ROME, June 4. Signor V. Gayda, the Italian publicist, writing in the Giornale d’ltalia, announced that Italy and Germany had formed a defensive entente. “Italy and Germany,” he declared, “are associating tlieir spirits and forces in defence of their great national principles. The entente will one day be revealed in its true worth as a protective force, not only in our mutual interests but also to the whole of European civilisation.”
