Mr C. G. Collins has been appointee! Deputy-Controller and Auditor-General, ■ according to a Gazette notice.—Press Association.

Mr H. J. Lancaster, of Glen Oroua, has been invited by the council of the New Zealand Jersey Association to officiate as a judge under the type classification scheme. s •

Mr D. Neilson, deputation secretary in Australia and New Zealand for the Ceylon and India General Mission, is the guest of Pastor and Mrs J. Walker, 203 Princess Street. Mr Neilson, who lias been engaged in work among the Muslim people of Mysore, South India, until quite recently, is visiting tins city on deputation work in connection with that mission.

Mr John Peel, a Napier pilot, has received notice of his appointment as co-pilot with Union Airways, at Palmerston North.’He will begin his new duties on June 21. Mr Peel, who tor the past seven years has been a member of the firm of Niven and Co., Port Ahuriri, has wide flying experience and holds a B license for. commercial flying. Ho is a foundation member of the Napier Aero Club. A Gazette issued last nigTit contains the following list of members of Teachers’ Appeal Board for 1937: Chairman. Mr It.
