(From Our Own Correspondent.) W All UNA WEST, June 3. The fourth birthday of the Waituna \\ cst \\ omen's Inslilute wau cclcbraied in tilo ball; it took the form of a Coronation social and dance. Mrs T. D. Stokes, president, gave an address of welcome to visitors and members from other institutes, ■ representatives being present from the Si an way, Halcombe, Jvimbollon, Cheltenham, Alukino, and Tokomaru Institutes. .Mm Siokes asked- the youngest member, .Miss .M. Holford, to present the former president, At its J. H. Williamson, with a shoulder spray an a token of appreciation. A playettc entitled “Her Ladyship Hclents,” was staged by the playreading circle, the cast being: Aim Mason, Mrs K U. England; Eileen Alason, Miss M. Halford; Mavis .Mason, Miss T. Old; Alison Mason, Miss Litchticld; Ali-s Matchmaker, Mi-s K. England; Aunt Hetty, .Miss AI. Clare; cook, Mrs J. H. Williamson; ...Mifrs Spring, Mrs Jenkins; Lady Uppish, Mrs A. Wevell. Items wore rendered as follow: —Song, .Mr Hansen (ICimbolton); due?, Mrs J Sami coat and .Mr Hanson; song, Mr Jackson. A beautiful birthday cake which was made by .Mrs L. Meads and decorated and iced by Mrs A. E. Shannon was admired, the candles being lit by Mrs J. H. Williamson and blown out by Mrs T. D. Stok.es. The cake was then cut by Mrs Meads, who was assisted by Mrs A. E. Shannon. Mrs Barnicoat (Kimbolton) presented the points prizes for the pant year’s work and also gave a talk on Inntitiito matters. The points prizes were won by Airs T. I). Stokes and Airs A. E. Shannon. Mr B. Shannon acted as M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by .Miss Joan Forgusson and Air Philip Alason, both of Halcombe.

The Waituna West School Rugby team beat the Rangiwahia School team by 18 points to nil, tries being scored by K. Bishop (2), R. Alayhew, B. Clare, T. Strawbridgo, and J. Anderson. Aim J. AlcNab, Tokomaru, who has been visiting relatives at Waituna West, has returned to her home.
