REPERTORY SOCIETY.
MONTHLY HEADING. A rehearsal reading of “Dark Angel” (H. B. Trevelyan) was presented to a large audience last night, almost the entire cast being players making their initial appearance. The performance was one of merit and full of promise. The practice of having rehearsed readings well staged, while providing an excellent training medium for the junior members, is increasing the popularity of the society’s activities, as is, evidenced by the large number of visitors, apart from members, who regularly attend. Mrs Linda Bennett directed the play and was assisted by Miss Clarice Weston. The cast was: —Kitty Fahnstock, Miss Marie Clarke; Hilary Trent, Mr G. Bate; Roma, Mrs E. L. Christian ; Sir Evelyn Fahnstock, Mr C. F. Cronin; Gerald Shannon, Mr J. Birnie; Lord Francis Beaumont, Mr T. W. Henderson; “Vi” Beaumont (the wife), Miss B. Butterfield ; Madge Wilmerding, Mrs W. Keeling; Winnie Mitcham, Miss R-. Lovelock; Tom, Trowbridge, Mr lan Fraser; Miss Smallwood, Miss Crombie.
