AOKAUTERE INSTITUTE.
The monthly meeting of the Aokautere Institute was held on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Groves presided over a fair attendance. It ’.vas decided to enter a team in the drama section of tho forthcoming drama, glee singing, and folk dancing festival. 'The speaker was Mrs McKain, of Palmerston North, who gave a talk on her homo country, Belgium.; a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs McKain. 'J he hostesses were Mcsdame Biddle, Brungar, and L. Field, and they were responsible for two competitions. The winner of tho jumbled towns tvas Mrs Brungar, and the lucky partners’ waltz was won by Mcsdames Groves and L. Atkinson. The competition was judged by Mrs McKain, and was for the beet article mado from Chinese matting. The winner of the senior section was Mrs Brungar and tho junior winner was Miss C. Field. The competition for next month will be for the best' article made - from an old felt hat, and the hostesses will be Mcsdamcs D. Scott, Davcy and Grcvcs.
