IN DIVORCE.
AUCKLAND DESERTION CASE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 2. “I was married in August, 1910, in response to the dying wish of my fust husband,” said Jean Hitched Rea in applying in the Supreme Court ioi a dissolution of her marriage with Thomas William Rea. The petitioner said that there was one son of her first marriage now aged 30, but no children of the second marriage. The 1 parties lived at Katikati and Waihi. Petitioner said that her married life with her second husband had been very unhappy. He was a heavy drinker and refused to work on the farm. Ho had several times locked her out of the house, and on another occasion had threatened to kill her. Mr Justice Smith: What did he say. Petitioner: He tokl me I would not see the light of another day. He caught mo by the throat. On anotlipr occasion he threatened to kill me. She left for Australia and had since supported her son. She had not seen her husband for 10 years. . ‘‘This is a case in which a husband forced liis wife from home—desertion, therefore, on the part of the husband, said His Monour. A decree nisi was granted. '
