WEDDING.
EDYVEAN—HASLOCH. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, I Palmerston North, was the scene of a j charming wedding yesterday, when [ Lilian Merle, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Hasloch, of “Glen Athol,” Tiritea, was married to George William, son of Mr TV. Edyvean, and the late Mrs Edyvean, of Palmerston North. Rev. J. Hubbard, M.A., 8.D., performed the ceremony and Mr A. J. Graham presided at the organ. | The church had been prettily decorated by friends of the bride, and provided an attractive setting for the bridal party. Escorted by her father, the bride looked very lovely in a slimfitting frock of cream needlerun lace with the skirt flowing jnto a graceful georgette and lace train. The frock had a draped cowl neckline, and cowl sleeves pointing over the hands. From a wreath of orange blossom the bride’s veil of cream embroidered tulle fell softly, and the flowers she carried were white freesias, hyacinths, roses and carnations. with maidenhair fern intermingled. The bride was attended by a matron-of-honour, Mrs John Robinson, of Wellington, and a bridesmaid. Miss Alice Smith. Both were similarly attired in frocks of turquoise blue figured taffeta, made on slim-fitting lines and flaring from the knees. Scalloped epaulettes and neck-lines, and silver stand-up collars, were interesting notes, plaited girdles encircling the waists and the skirts being finished with hand-made flowers. Roth carried bouquets of pink carnations, danhne, roses and freesias. Mr Jack Hasloch (brother of the bride) carried out the duties of best man, and Mr Cecil Hyde (a. friend of the bridegroom) was groomsman. A reception was later held at Messrs C'ollinson and Gunninghame’s, where the bride’s mother received the guests. She was wearing a, saxe blue ensemble with hat and shoes to tone, and on her shoulder she had pinned a pink spray of hyacinths,' cyclamen, and maiden-hair fern. Airs Hyde, who assisted her, had chosen a dark tailored costume with an autumn shoulder spray. The happy couple later left by car on a tour of the north, Mrs Edyvean appearing for travelling in a smart wine tunic frock with gold lame trimming, and coat, hat, and shoes to tone. They will make their future home in Palmerston North.
