A DANGER TO CRICKET. LONDON, May 31. The sports editor of the Daily Sketch, Air L. V. Manning, predicts that the Imperial Cricket Conference next mouth will tackle the evil of unofficial cricket tours, which do not give English players a chance to rest. Mr Manning also mentions that, as a result of Sir Julieri Calm’s recent tour of Ceylon, two Leicestershire-born players will have to stand aside in 1939 in favour of the Australians Mudge and Walsh. The time has come, lie says, to make a repetition of that impossible. “The home supply is not so thin that we need recruiting expeditiouy from overseas, , concludes the writer.
