RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, May 31. Playing to-dny on the local courts in beautiful sunshine,' the ICopane A basketball team beat the Rongotea B team by 17 goals to 11. Messrs R. F. and M, Wright left by car at the week-end to spend a holiday in Auckland. The closing days of May have been marked by most agreeable weather in
Rongotea, clear, sunny days and moonlight nights, with an absence of wind. As if to balance an, exceptionally cold, wet summer, there has so far this winter been little frost or Bevcre cold. Roses, with many other flowers, have had a prolonged season of bloom, and now the paddocks aro taking on a green tinge in response to the genial conditions. Mr W. Poole, aged 92, who was admitted to the Hospital some weeks ago suffering from a broken thigh bone, is making satisfactory progress. Miss M. Sparrow has returned from a visit to Auckland.
