TRACK NOTES.

TRIALS FOR WANGANUI. With Contact looking improved by his outing at Foxton, ho and John Charles were sent a good working gallop over a mile at Wanganui yesterday morning, while useful work was dono by Royal Banquet, Horios and Red Rufus. Rona Bay was entered for Wanganui, but will not race, having been returned to Trentham after her failure at Foxton. Hunting Queen and Clarion Call, both of whom are in good fettle, worked nicely over a mile in 1.50 2-5. With K. Chote up, Airing was cantered once round boforo running seven furlongs in 1.32 4-5. The Cockpit gelding, who is engaged in the Bristol Hack Cup, looks very well. • Covering the first two furlongs in 25 2-5 sec, Brazen King (A. Jenkins) ran five furlongs in 1.5 2-5, working very attractively. Parakino finished a length in front of Master Morval over six furlongs in 1.18 2-5.

Rcipar was restricted to three-quarter pace work over five furlongs. Rotoma has evidently benefited by her race at Foxton, and the Gainscourt filly was pulling hard in covering a couplo of rounds at half pace. She should bo handy in her nearby engagements. It is reported that Huntcr”s Morn will not be a starter at Wanganui, as lie is said to be amiss. Collodion is another unlikely starter at the meeting. He was a trifle sore after galloping on Saturday, and decidedly lame in front yesterday morning, when ho was restricted to walking exorcise. Tho Colossus gelding had been galloping well, and it will bo hard luck for his owner-trainer, J. Boyd, if he has to let Collodion drop out of nis engagements.
