A RECIPE.
DIGESTIVE BISCUITS
Mix together 6oz of self-raising flour and 3oz of fine oatmeal, and then add lsoz of sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat up half an egg and add to it 2oz of melted butter and a quarter of a gill of cold water. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and stir in the egg mixture, making a soft dough. Then turn out on to a floured board, knead lightly and roll the dough to a quarter of an inch in thickness. Prick it all over and cut into biscuits, coating them with a little egg or milk. Place the biscuits on a greased bakingtin and bake for 20 minutes in a moderate oven till nicely browned.
