PAHIATUA, June 1. Rev. C. M. Roberts left for Daimcvirke yesterday to attend the Hawke’s Bav-Mauawatu Synod of the Methodist Church. Mr and Mrs A. D. Donald and Miss Jean Donald have returned to Wanganui after spending a few days in Pahiatua. Mr T. W. Watts has returned to Pahiatua after a motoring holiday ill tile north. The Pahiatua police have been advised that Mr A. E. Brown’s truck, which was removed from his iarin at Hamua about a fortnight ago, has been recovered undamaged in Wellington. Speaking at the meeting of the Farmers’ Union yesterday, Mr J. H. A social and dance at which fifteen members of the Loyal Manawatu Lodge were present, together with a good muster of members and their friends, proved a success. Dance music was supplied by Miss Doris Burt, and Bro.. L. Pearse carried out the duties of M.C., while Bro. IT. A. Bick contributed vocal items. Monte Carlo winners were Mrs Cox and Bro. Fergus.
