NOTE TO THE VATICAN.
ACTION BY GERMANY. Received June 2, 11.5 a.m. BERLIN, June 1. It is learned chat the protest to the Vatican declared that the Holy See must realise by its refusal publicly to reprimand Cardinal Mundelein that it has destroyed the conditions necessary for normal relations between Germany and the Holy See. Political circles indicate that the Note is intended to be in the nature of an ultimatum foreshadowing a rupture of diplomatic, relations unless satisfaction is given.
An earlier cable appears on page 9.
