PROPOSED QUEEN CARNIVAL
A meeting of the Feilding Queen Carnival Committee was held last evening, the Mayor (Mr T. Collins) presiding. Messrs Collins (representing the football executive), P. G. Guy (Municipal Band), Fraser and Butler (Bine Band) and E. A. Garlick and R. Miers were appointed the carnival executive. Nominations were received from the following queens: Pipe Band, Miss Joy Duncan; football executive, Miss W. Dewe; Municipal Band, Miss Olive Sporle. • It was decided to issue 10s membership tickets to tradespeople and others which entitle the holders to immunity from further canvassing, the proceeds to go to the general fund. June 14 was decided upon as the opening day for the campaign and the closing day was fixed for August 20.
