NOTES.
A car was found burning on Mt. Stewart, last evening, and was towed into Feilding this morning. The
vehicle, which had been converted into a small truck, was abandoned when the police arrived this morning. The vehicle required •to be shifted on account of its position on main highway creating a menace to "traffic. Enquiries are being made to ascertain the owner of the vehicle. The car was badly damaged. The Feilding Rost Office lias to date dealt with 1200 applications for motor registration plates. There are still 300 applications to be dealt with, it is estimated—2oo in respect of car registrations and 100 in respect of motorcycles. • ' . .. ... Voting papers in connection with the plebiscite to be taken on the question of Feilding’s town had. proposal have been completed in reauiness lor distribution to ratepayers. The two issues are (1) the proposal ol the Mayor to purchase a section of land m Fergusson Street and erect a hall m accordance with plans submitted to a recent public meeting, the whole estimated to cost under £9000; and (2) the erection of a municipal block on the site of tho borough offices with provision for a town hall in addition to all borough offices. Messrs Check and Gunn, of the i\ew Zealand Bible Training Institute, Auckland, are at present conducting a mission in Feilding.
