NEW MARRIAGE BILL.

i MR HERBERT CONGRATULATED. CHANGE IN DIVORCE LAW. __ (British Official Wireless.) Received May 31, 8.5 a.m. RUGBY, May 29. On the passage of Mr A. P. Herbert’s Marriage Bill in the House ot Commons, after- the rising of the House members of ail parties crowded around Mr Herbert and congratulated him on his achievement.in securing the passage of the Bill through the House. This was made possible only by the Government’s providing extra Parliamentary time in response to the general feeling of the House. • The chief features of the measure, which has been approved by representative churchmen, are extension of the grounds for divorce and a provision that there shall be no divorce within five years' of; ’marriage.
