(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON. May 31. There was a record attendance at ( (lie weekly practice of the Sandon iablc Tennis Club on Saturday night. Winners of buttons for the week were: A grade A C. Matthews; B grade, F. Moyer; C grade, 1). Leiteh; D grade. D. Stevens. Before commencing play, the president asked l members to stand in silence as a mark of respect for two old settlers of Sanson who had passed away, Mr Frank Grace and Mr James Harris. The following arc to represent the club in the Te Kuwa table tennis competition on Wednesday night: A team, Misses M. and J. Butler, A. C. Matthews, It. Meyer, G. Williams, N. Oppatt. First B team, M. Cockburn, F. Meyer, E. Butler. T. Williams, R, Lumsden and N. Butler-; second B team, R. Bishop, P. Meyer, D. Lei toll, Z. Bishop, A. Nesbit and J. Bavey; emergency, Mrs Leiteh and Miss V. Butlor. Miss Dulcie Flyger and Miss Sheila Grace returned to Wanganui College toclay. A quiet but pretty wedding of district interest was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Sanson, on Wednesday last, when Rev. R. E. Fordyce officiated at the marriage of Phyllis Mabel, only daughter of Mr and Mrs T. 11. Williams, to Peter Errol Edward, third sou of Mr and Mrs P McCabe, of Okato, New Plymouth. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride with autumn leaves, flowers and streamers, and the bridal party stood under a beautiful bell, the artistic work of Mrs T. Cook. Mrs W. E. Pearce presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of_ ivory satin beaulo and lace, cut on classical lines with long fitting sleeves and a cowl neck, and finished with a row of tiny buttons down the back. The skirt, fitting closely over the hips, flared to form a long oval train. She wore her mother’s veil of Brussels net, embroidered with true lovers’ knots, held to her head by a circlet of orango blossoms and pearls,/ the latter a gift to the bride from her grandmother, the late Mrs M. A. Bowator. (It bad been worn on her own wedding day 52 years ago.) A beautiful shower bouquet of cyclamen, roses, carnations, and freesias, entwined with maiden-hair fern, completed a charming toilet. In attendance were three bridesmaids, Misses Maude and Freida McCabe (sisters of the bridegroom), and Miss Margaret Coulter (cousin of the bride), and Mildred and Lois Currie made two sweet little flower-girls. The bridesmaids were frocked alike in honey-tinted crepe-de-chine, rucked at the neck and waist and with short, puffed sleeves and close-fitting skirts, slightly trained. They wore gold shoes, gold flowers encircling their heads, and crystal beads, and carried pretty bouquets of chrysanthemums, berries, Chinese lanterns, and maiden-hair fern. The flower-girls woro pretty anklelength frocks, with gauged yokes, puffed sleeves, full skirts finished with three picot frills, satin shoes to match, and golden flowers in their curls, and carried crooks ornamented with flowers and ribbons. The bridegroom was attended by Mr A. Moorley as best man and Mr W. Silver and Mr G. Williams wore groomsmen. Mrs Williams wore a smart navy tailored costume, with hat and shoes to tone, and carried an autumn-tinted posy. Mrs McCabe chose a model frock of navy satin backed marocain, with swagger coat and navy hat. Crims.on chrysanthemums and foliage and crimson ribbon formed her bouquet. Tho bouquets for the bridal party were artistically arranged by Mrs A. Hope, of Sanson. When the happy couple left later by car the bride travelled in a nigger brown tailored custuine, smart felt bat, an overcoat to match, and accessories to tone. Mr and Mrs E.
