COUNCIL’S ANNUAL MEETING. Mrs T. 11. Lowry, 0.8. E., presided over tlie annual meeting of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, which was held in Wellington recently. Arrangements for the visit to the Dohminion in September of Air de Gielgud, under-secretary-gcneral of the League of Red Cross Societies, Paris, were discussed. Air de Gielgud, it w r as stated, would be met at Auckland about September 20, and a public meeting held. He would then travel to Wellington to confer with tlie council of the Red Cross Society, and, after a public meeting. he will journey through New Zealand, meeting the various executives and addressing public meetings. Thanks were expressed to the president, and to Major Abel, tlie retiring chairman, for their services' to the society.
