poverty bay experience. The outbreak of facial eczema in sheep, which was reported some time awo as having taken place in the Gisborne area, was described by Mr E. Elphiek, Government veterinarian at Palmerston North, who has been transferred to this centre fiom Hastings, to a “Standard” reporter as having been only slight. There had been a prolonged period of dry weather, he said, and that was followed by two inches of rain. The pastures came away quickly and here and there the trouble made an appearance, although it was not by any means so extensive as to bo regarded as very serious. The outbreak was short-lived and was nothing in comparison with ‘a previous experience of the malady.
