COLLISION ON BRIDGE

CAR AND LORRY. v THREE IN HOSPITAL. As the result of a collision on a on«waybridge near Hfghden last evening three persons were brought to the HI merston North Hosfntal. A a motor lorry were concerned, the car being a three-seater model with a dickey seat. It was driven by Mr JCousins, junr., who had the vehicle his father and mother (Mr and Mrs J- Cousins) and Miss G_ race Lowe and Mr Henry Brougham. They had been visiting Miss Lowes people, Mr and Mrs G. I- Lowe, of Kon S ot ®;*: who are also aunt and uncle of Mr Brougham. , , . Mr Cousins, senr., was taken to Feilding ' tor medical attention and from there brought to the Palmerston North Hospital. ' Mrs Cousins and Miss Lowe were later brought to the Hospital and Mr Cousins , junr , and Mr Brougham stayed at Rongotea at Mr and Mrs Lowe’s home. Mr Cousins had head injuries and underwent au operation last evening. The injuries are not serious and to-day his condition was satisfactory. Mrs Cousins and Miss Lowe suffered from shock, but had improved to-day. Messrs Cousins junr., and Brougham were shaken, cut not hurt, it is understood. CAR OVERTURNS.

Following tlie skidding of a car in loose metal near Tangimoana and the subsequent overturning of the vehicle, j’esterday, Miss Peters, aged 1/, of Palmerston North, suffered head injuries. She was brought to the Palmerston North Hospital by the Free Ambulance and the Hospital authorities reported today that an operation had been performed last night. There had been no change to-day, but her condition was not looked upon as serious. Mr S. C. Sapwell, of Palmerston North, wa* the driver of the car.
