SPELLMAN BEATS BLOMFIELD. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 30. In what was one of the best wrestling bouts, ever seen here, Jack Spellman (16.0) beat “Lotty” Blomfield (16.6) last night by two falls to one. Bloinfield scored with an octopus clamp in the third round, Spellman equalising in the fifth with an aeroplane .spin, dump and body prees, following three terrific dumps, Blomfield was groggy in the sixth, and the American had no difficulty in securing another tall with, a.n aeroplane spin and body press. It was a hard, fact contest, devoid of j showmanship, Spellman’s display marking him as one of the cleverest wrentiers ever to appear in Dunedin. EORSGREN v. KIRILINKO. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 30. Eorsgren and Kirilinko drew with one tail each in a rough wrestling match on Saturday. Kirilinko wc.-i awarded a penalty fall in the fifth round when Eorsgren kicked hint as he lay prostrate after an elbow jolt, and Eorsgren equalised in the eighth, lulling on hie opponent as he overbalanced in attempting a. dump. STEIN BEATS RUMBERG. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 30. Solid wrestling, devoid of showmanship, characterised a professional match between Sammy Stein and Hal Rumberg last night. The latter obtained a fall in the third round when following some forearm jolting he sprang quicklv off the ropes, took Stein to the mat. with a. flying body scissors, and easily pressed his shouldeiß down. Stein evened the falls in the seventh round, a succession of flying tackles paving the way for a body press. No fall resulted in the final round. There was a storm of disapproval when the referee gave a points decision in favour of Btein.
