Mrs S. I. W’aldcn, of Thymic Street, is visiting Napier. Mr W. Jay, who was'recently admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital, following an injury, lias returned to Afanawatu Heads. Mrs Burgin, Epscm, Auckland, is spending several weeks in Foxton as the guest of her son and daugh-ter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs E. W. Burgin, of the vicarage. Mr A. Lee, who was recently admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital following an injury, lias returned home. Mr It. Osborne has received notification of his appointment to the Manawatu Licensing Committee to fill tlia vacancy caused by the death of Mr J. Iv. Horn blow. Two local residents, Messrs J. Coley, junr., and 11. Alexander,* bad a narrow escape from strious injury on Thursday afternoon. They were travelling in Mr L. McCarthy’s flax truck along No. 1 Lino when the wheels of the truck twisted when negotiating loose metal and the lorry left the read. It went over a bank almost in frorlt of Air B. G. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of gold shimmer serge, cut with an American cowl neckline and full slit sleeves, the skirt being cut to fall in a graceful fantail flare at the back. Her wide brimmed picture bat was cf gold patterned hair straw and was trimmed with gold tissue and flowers. Gold kid sandals, and a sheaf bouquet of gold chrysanthemums and asparagus fern completed a charming .-picture. Miss- Una Barrat. sister of the bridegroom, was. bridesmaid, and wore a dainty frock of li ac coin spot satin with full sleeves and a cowl fruit. A- sheaf bouquet of iris and lavender daisies was carried. At the annual installation of officers rf Loyal Foxton Lodge visitors were present from Loyal Wanganui, Manawatu (Palmerston North), and Marlon Lodges. The District Grand Alaster (Bro, F. J. Wilson) was also in - attendance. Deputy-Dis-trict Grand Alaster, , Bro.. W. Y. Nye, acted as installation officer. The newly-appoint-ed officers arc: —N.G., Sis. Si E. Fletcher; V.G.; Brp. L. Fletcher; 8.5.„ Bro. E. A. Corlott; G., Bro. E. Joyce; and W., Bro. R. Fletcher. On Wednesday a ladies’ team from tlio Herrington Golf . Club visited Otaki to play a Tapapu Cup match against the Otaki representatives. Herrington were beaten by 5 games to -2. Results, Herringtor, players mentioned first:—Aliss G.
