INCREASE IN EXPORTS. IMPORTS ALSO HIGHER. WELLINGTON, May 29. Exports from New Zealand during April reached a record level at £8,402.000, while the total value of exports in New Zealand currency for the ten months of the “production” year tp April 30 was over £53,000,000. The total overseas trade of the Dominion for the ten months, exports and imports, was £94,800,000. According to the latest returns issued yesterday by the Customs Department, exports during April were valued at £8,402,000, compared with £6,137,000 for 'April, 1936, an increase of £2,265,000, and more than double tifiose fol’ April, 1935. Imports last month were valued at £4,342,000, an increase of £783,000, as compared with those for April, 1936. The trade figures for April for the last three years compare as follows:
